What Pet Insurance Do You Have?

What Pet Insurance Do You Have - I am looking to get insurance for my pom pup and im getting overwhelmed with all of the information out there. Im doing comparisons now but i wanted to ask other dog owners: What insurance do you have Is your insurance worth the price What are the important things it should cover If you do not have it, what kind would you get if you were going to get it I am currently most interested in TRUPANION, it seems to cover the most for the best prices. Have you heard of it? what do you think of it? Thank you for any information you might have for me. do all insurances make you pay up front and then repay you later?

  • Petsbest My vet recommended this company. haven't had to use it yet really. But its there if I need it
  • I have Trupanion. I haven't had any accidents to know how they are with claims but so far every time I have question. I could call them 24 / 7. When I enrolled my Shih Tzu ers. They sent me a silver tag with his name and his ID # on the back. If he's lost then the founder could call the number and take him to the vet because he's covered. Trupanion is actually a Canadian company and they are expanding. The new name they have in the US is Trupanion
  • All mine are with greenbee. They have lifetime cover don't have to renew anually and everything is covered. I can not remember the exact amounts off the top of my head but it's well worth what I am paying. Never heard of Trupanion, must be American :
  • I also have Trupanion for my dog. I have been with them about 6 months, and have only filed one claim so far, it was repaid within 2 weeks so I was pleased. I definitely recommend them as they seem to be the most fair in the industry - none of that benefits schedules, or limits per condition. Plus I chose a $0 deductible, so they pay 90% of the claims with just the 10% copay. All pet insurance companies in the US make you pay the vet first and then reimburse. Though I have heard that sometimes they might work with your vet under special circumstances like really high bills. For the most part, vets do not like dealing with the insurance companies though
  • Pet Plan, on the supreme cover for life policy. Worth every penny of the £31. 86 I pay per month. Comprehensive veterinary treatment cover {maximum of £12, 000, in one year} Complementary treatment such as physiotherapy & hydrotherapy. 3rd party cover {if my dog caused an accident or damage to property. } I haven't heard of Trupanion
